■주제: Reconstructing Reality: Light Transport in Holographic Displays and Computer Graphics
■Abstract: As the boundaries between physical and digital spaces continue to blur, the ability to reconstruct and render the real world with photorealistic fidelity in real time is becoming increasingly important. This talk introduces two main technologies in 3D displays and computer graphics—holographic displays and path tracing. Although developed in different contexts, both approaches ultimately seek to model the true light transport of the real world. This talk discusses the basic principles of light transport in holographic display systems and path tracing, and highlights the main challenges and future outlook for next-generation visual systems.
■Bio: Hyeonseung Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University. Before joining SKKU, he worked at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology and the System LSI Division of Samsung Electronics. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from KAIST, and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Germany. His research interests include 3D displays and neural graphics, with a focus on 3D holographic displays, AI-based real-time hologram streaming, and AI-driven rendering acceleration and photorealistic rendering on mobile platforms.
