■주제: In-sensor computing for AI-native robotic vision

■요약: Machine vision technologies enable mobile and humanoid robots to detect and identify surrounding objects, facilitating cooperation with humans and assisting in human activities. To achieve error-free execution of such tasks, mobile robots necessitate high-performance imaging and data processing capabilities, especially in compact design and energy-efficient architecture. However, conventional technologies often struggle to meet the high-standard requirements of robotic vision. Here, we introduce electronic eyes featuring high-performance imaging and data processing capabilities, enabled by leveraging the unique electrical, optical, and mechanical properties of nanomaterials, offering a promising insight into the future of semiconductor technologies. First, we developed the bio-inspired cameras that emulate the structural features of biological eyes, offering a compact form factor ideal for high-mobility robotics. Second, we introduce machine vision sensors capable of performing image signal processing at the sensory level via in-sensor computing techniques, without the need for resource-intensive computations, thereby enhancing data processing efficiency.
